Maria is a seasoned legal professional, internally trained and armed with a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set. After graduating from the Hugh Wooding Law School, Maria was called to the bar of Trinidad and Tobago in 2014. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Global Studies from the University of the West Indies and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of London. Currently, Maria is a Licensing Candidate with the Law Society of Ontario, solidifying her commitment to expanding her legal horizons. In her practice in Trinidad and Tobago, Maria amassed extensive experience real estate, estate planning, employment law, contract negotiation, corporate law and civil litigation. Her extensive experience in transactional work has enriched her analytical prowess and ability to adeptly navigate complex legal issues and provide clients with solutions tailored to their needs. With a unique ability to handle cross-border issues, bridging the legal landscapes of Canada and the Caribbean, Maria expects to be a valuable resource for clients navigating complex international matters. Maria's relocation to Canada in October 2021 marked a new chapter in her legal journey. Eagerly embracing the challenge of navigating Ontario's licensing process, she remains committed to continuous learning, enhancing her capacity to diligently serve our clients. Maria also finds joy in baking, hiking, and embracing the outdoors, reflecting her commitment to balance and well-being. Her love for volunteering in her community further underscores Maria's dedication to making a positive impact beyond her professional pursuits.
