Ayderus Alawi is a respected criminal defense lawyer who has dedicated over a decade to community engagement, including advocating for youth in various capacities. His journey began as a Youth Worker at the Toronto District School Board where he championed the rights of youth facing challenges with police and the criminal justice system. This advocacy extended to conducting rights-focused workshops and navigating the Police Complaints process.

Ayderus co-founded Beyond the Lyrics Youth Resource Centre, aiming to bridge gaps in access to resources, education, and justice. His work includes a position as a Youth Worker in a Toronto District School board suspension program, supporting marginalized youth facing police and criminal justice challenges. Throughout law school at Osgoode Hall, he remained active in advocacy as a leader in C.L.A.S.P, the legal aid clinic.
